Movie Spotlight: Death of a Ghost Hunter

Death of a Ghost Hunter is a 2007 movie starring Patti Tindall, Davina Joy, Mike Marsh, Gordon Clark, and Lindsay Page.  In 1982, Mary Beth Masterson stabbed her family to death and then committed suicide in their Arizona home.  Thirty years later, homeowner Seth Masterson (Gordon Clark) hires ghost hunter Carter Simms (Patti Tindall) to investigate paranormal activity that has been going on there; he also wants videographer Colin Green (Mike Marsh) and journalist Yvette Sandoval (Davina Joy) there.  Seth's uncle Joseph was one of the victims of the 1982 murders.  Soon after Carter meets Colin and Yvette, Mary Young Mortensen (Lindsay Page) from the Fundamentalist Church of Christ (which was founded by Joseph Masterson, among others), claiming that Seth asked her to be there.  She seems pretty weird right off the bat, but I can't tell if she's supposed to be that way or if it's just bad acting.  Mary is really annoying and judgmental, as super religious people in movies almost always are.

Death of a Ghost Hunter wasn't particularly scary, and the acting wasn't great (Patti Tindall was good though), but the twist at the end was interesting.

My rating: 6/10

  1. It was okish. But the acting was sub par. And Mary Young was a complete freak!
