The first trailer for Ash vs. Evil Dead was released a few days ago, and it looks pretty great...I really wish I had the Starz network. Ash vs. Evil Dead premieres on Halloween 2015, and here's a preview of what's coming up:

Pictures from the Roswell UFO Festival

I wasn't lucky enough to attend the Roswell UFO Festival this year, but luckily there are a bunch of pictures from the event on the website, so those of us who couldn't go can (almost) feel like we were there.

I love the pictures from the Pet Alien Costume Contest...I wish there had been goats there the year I went. : )

What We Do in the Shadows is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time, and I can't wait to watch it again! : )

Movie Spotlight: The Lazarus Effect

The Lazarus Effect is a 2015 movie starring Mark Duplass, Olivia Wilde, Donald Glover, Evan Peters, and Sarah Bolger.  Medical researchers/engaged couple Frank and Zoe (Mark Duplass and Olivia Wilde) have created a serum that is meant to help coma patients.  The serum somehow ends up being able to bring people back to life...but not exactly the way the deceased used to be.  When Zoe dies after being electrocuted, Frank uses the serum to bring her back, and of course things go horribly wrong.  Resurrected Zoe is basically the old Zoe...except now she hears peoples' thoughts and has telekinesis.

I enjoyed The Lazarus held my attention the whole time, and I liked the ending.  The movie has a great cast, and everyone gave impressive performances, even the dog.  It's definitely a better movie than the random paranormal Netflix movies I watch for this blog. ; )

My rating: 7.5/10

Blog anniversary!

It doesn't feel like it, but I started this blog two years ago today after going to Roswell for the first time.  This was the blog post that started it's all about my trip to the Roswell UFO Festival.

When I started this blog, I really thought that only my friends and family would read it, but it's gotten more than 35,000 views so far from all over the world.  Thanks to everyone who has been reading my thoughts about ghosts, aliens, and other paranormal stuff...I've been having fun with it. : )

Poem: Love Will Win

This isn't paranormal, but as some of you might know, I live in Charleston, SC, so of course the murder of nine innocent people at the Mother Emanuel AME Church really affected me. Writing is something that always helps me deal with the bad things in life, so I wrote a poem about it, and I'd like to share it with you.

Love Will Win

He walked into the church
With evil on his mind.
They welcomed him with open arms.
They were nothing but kind.

They accepted him as if
He were one of their own.
He sat with them for an hour,
His true intentions unknown.

They thought he was there for Bible study.
They didn’t know his real reason.
They weren’t aware of his hatred.
They didn’t know he had a gun.

He said he had to kill them,
But his reasons made no sense.
That night the people of Charleston
Learned that monsters do exist.

He almost didn’t do it
Because they were so nice to him,
But he was on a mission,
So instead he started shooting.

He stole the lives of nine people,
Six women and three men.
These good people were killed in cold blood
Because of the color of their skin.

Senator Clementa Pinckney was a reverend.
Daniel L. Simmons was too.
Sharonda Coleman-Singleton was a coach
At Goose Creek High School.

One family lost three that night:
Susie Jackson, Tywanza Sanders, and Ethel Lance.
Tywanza was a recent college graduate
Who died trying to protect his aunt.

Ethel was a custodian at Mother Emanuel
And known for being joyful.
Susie was the family matriarch;
Eighty-seven years old and loving to all.

Depayne Middleton-Doctor was a minister
And admissions coordinator at a college.
Cynthia Hurd was a dedicated librarian
Who loved helping people and spreading knowledge.

Leading Bible study was Myra Thompson,
A former teacher beloved by her students.
Felicia Sanders and her granddaughter
Survived by playing dead.

Polly Sheppard’s life was spared
So she could tell the world what happened,
And now the Holy City mourns
And tries to understand.

These nine souls left behind
So many people who love them.
A hateful killer will spend his life
Paying for his sins.

He wanted to start a race war,
But he came to the wrong city to do it.
In Charleston, we don’t react with violence.
In Charleston, hope and love will win.

Why do they call him
Bigfoot? Are they trying to
Make him self-conscious?

What is a ghost's favorite instrument?
The boo-kulele.
