Movie Spotlight: The Forest

The Forest is a 2016 movie starring Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken, and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. When Sara Price's (Natalie Dormer) twin sister goes missing in Aokigahara Forest (aka Suicide Forest), Sara goes to Japan to look for her. When she arrives in Japan, Sara meets a reporter (Taylor Kinney) who agrees to venture into Suicide Forest with her if he can tell her story...can they find out what happened to Jess, or will the spirits of the dead get them first?

I first read about Suicide Forest in World's Most Haunted Places magazine in late 2014, so of course I was interested to see a movie about it. I thought The Forest would be scarier (though to be fair, it's rare that I find a movie that scares me), but it was still a good movie with great performances. I was surprised by the ending too, and I like when that happens. : )

My rating: 7/10

  1. I read a lot of stuff about Aokigahara forest. There has been documentaries about it. Saw photos of corpses found. You should watch in youtube the documentary by Unrested. He has a lot of good japanese paranormal stuff
