A Tribute to Murray, the World's Cutest Hamster

If you read this blog on a regular basis, you've probably seen some pictures of Murray, the world's cutest hamster. I'm sorry to say that Murray passed away last night...he spent the last few hours of his life sleeping in my hand, and I was holding his tiny paw when he went. He died exactly two years after we brought him home, and I always did my best to make sure he knew how loved he was (by kissing him all the time and spoiling him rotten). He made me really happy, and I'm going to miss him so much. Here are some of my favorite paranormal/horror pictures of him.

The X-Files: The Haunting

The X-Files: The Haunting is a 1996 graphic novel by writer Stefan Petrucha and artist Charles Adlard. It includes five different stories:

"Hallow Eve": When odd deaths occur around recently-excavated bones believed to be those of Eve, the first female, Mulder and Scully try to find out why people are dying while in possession of the ancient remains.

"One Player Only": A computer programmer snaps and kills three coworkers and a security guard, and a virtual reality program he was working on may be the cause.

"Falling": A group of kids mistakes Mulder, who is suffering from radiation sickness, for an alien.

"Home of the Brave": Mulder and Scully are held hostage by white supremacist survivalists in Georgia.

"The Silent Blade": A man goes to work and kills nine coworkers with an antique sword rumored to be haunted by the demon slayer who once owned it.

I've been a fan of The X-Files since it first aired, but this is the first X-Files graphic novel I've read. Though I didn't enjoy it as much as some of the other graphic novels I've read (such as Archie, Jem and the Holograms, or Army of Darkness), I do want to read a few more in the series. : )

My rating: 7.5/10

Countdown to The X-Files!

It's only a month until The X-Files comes back, and of course I'm really excited about it...it was one of my favorite shows when I was in high school and college, and Fox Mulder is one of my favorite characters of all-time. My favorite episode is season five's "Bad Blood" (written by Vince Gilligan, who went on to create Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, two of my favorite shows), in which Mulder and Scully have very different recollections of a case that led to Mulder killing someone he thought was a vampire. I started collecting Funko Pop! Vinyls a few months ago, so I was pretty excited to find out that they're releasing some for The X-Files next year.
